Anyone running WDCR this weekend have an aftermarket driver's seat? I want to see some in person if possible, as I know the S2K is very space limited with respect to seats. My stock seat is dissolving

Yeah buddy. I can't wait. It was showing a chance of rain the other day, but today they said on the radio when I was driving that it would be very nice on Sunday. I said "yeah!" out loud

I'm really hoping to improve my driving this year since my car is in no way a limitation this year. There is no better way to improve than racing against locals. I find it as exciting as National competition, but not as depressing since the difference is fractions of a second rather than more than a second. Plus, you never know who will win until the end, and even then it is unclear as to exactly what the hell happened.

The ProSolo will also be exciting for the same reasons, although I prefer the tour events/ divisionals over the pro, there is a chance for any number of people to win the DC Pro in STR, so it will be a great battle.

See you all Sunday!!

really no rain!!!! I can't wait! I was a little upset that the rain wouldn't hold out when I was trying these tires and different alignment out( I didn't even get 2 runs lol) so hopefully I will be able to progress and get a better feel for these tires.

I can't wait to meet you all face to face and have us some friendly competition!

Sure why not. My car broke last week so I am trying to get it mended up and re-aligned.

An aftermarket seat is one of the single best mods I've done to my car. It is absolutely night and day compared to the OEM seat.

Your best choice and it's one of the most popular (also happens to be what I have) is the Recaro Pole Position. A 36 waist can fit very comfortably sit in the seat, 38 will still definitely fit and a 40 will be a tad tight but still probably doable.

I really want to get up to a couple of your events and meed some of the NOVA/MD guys. I think VPS_AP1 was at the November VMSC event I attended last year but we never actually met. I'm hoping to get my car setup better this year. Still considering trying to trade for another one that isn't beyond STR legal mods. (Mine has no soft top and slightly pulled fenders)

Does your seat rub the door or center console though? Is it on sliders? Those both concern me. Along with ingress/egress (The S2000 is by far the hardest car to get in and out of that I have owned) I'm a 32in waist at most, although I have friends that might drive periodically that are larger. I like aftermarket seats, but I wouldn't consider the mod if my stock seat wasn't dissolving. The quality of the stock materials is astoundingly bad to fall apart by 44000 miles.

You should definitely come up to some WDCR / AI events. Or BMW club if you don't like slaloms, or CDC if you want me to beat you in a 100whp STR Miata STR is a great crowd, and one of the largest local classes running. There is some pretty good competition up top, but in a class this large (currently 18 registered for the Practice event) there's bound to be one or two people close to you to compete against. Don't hesitate to come out with your current car, I highly doubt anyone would protest you.

No rubbing on the door (looks like it will but it won't) and it does not block the center console. I'm pretty sure the Pole Position is the largest seat that fits in the car without rubbing issues. It's also on a rail with slider so I can move it as far forward or back as I want.

I think getting in and out is a piece of cake but it's definitely going to be more work than the OEM seat. You sound a lot smaller than me though which should make it even easier. I'm 6' ~230lbs. I'm used to it though. This is my second s2000 and the first one had the exact same seat too.
