2012 MD/NOVA Auto-X Thread
I'm not crying. Mike might be though, but he is a a Nissan, not a Honda. I think I know who the fast drivers are, and they are usually ahead of me in PAX. I rarely feel that there is an injustice on account of PAX.
Also, when I said that my personal PAX results improved significantly when I spent a few months in BS last year, I failed to suggest that the result might have been because the car was more prepped for BS than it was for STR. Now my car is more prepped in STR than it was in BS, and guess what... I was in BS usually right behind guys like Eric Simmons, who I regard as very good. In STR yesterday I was in immediately in front of Eric, who consistently seems to be around 10 to 12 or so in PAX with the group we were with. So perhaps PAX is accurate as is. But then again, STR was adjusted this year vs. last year, so there is a little inconsistency from this year to last.
From the event yesterday, of those people I know who were in front of me, they are all much faster drivers (Barbato, Horvath, Slevin, Travis are those who I know). There may have been some faster people behind me too, but I didn't really look at them in this comparison.
So, all I can say is personally I don't see any wrongful placement of PAX figures, but is it perfect? probably not.
Anyway, here is yesterday's video. More of you should make the trip up to NJ. It is autocross paradise.
The video shows my 2nd fastest run (the first) which was on Dunlops, and the second and third parts are on the RS-3s. (neither were faster than the Dunlops)

Mike, I think you should be in an S. You would be happier in the long run. You need competition, which you don't have locally. And you could handle the competition in STR enough to be in the mix of top drivers locally for sure, and who knows beyond that... If you were in BS, that would be interesting as well.
Plus, you would be tied to a racing community that you currently don't have in the Nissan..
Just sayin.

I have competition now. Lee Piccione's M3 is nasty fast. I enjoy my car, when it runs. I like s2ki because you guys have a strong racing contingent. Much of the suspension, etc info exchange crosses platforms, that I find useful.
Side note, I actually washed and waxed the Z today. Noel, you have to be a little impressed that I actually washed it
.
Should be pretty and shiny for the pro this weekend!

Can you get rid of that front plate or do something with it, relocate the front Hoosier sticker to the front hood, and get a new Tire Rack banner? Then I will be fully impressed

The detailing makes it look like a different, and new car. Nice job!
The peoples republic of MD frowns upon no front plate. I'll probably remove it for the pro. I have another TireRack sticker, but I don't want to put it on because I will just eff it up like the last one. I like the Hoosier sticker on the bumper

Also, Noel, another reason for being on here....I feel the s2k is ultimately the favorite in the new BSP. If my car doesn't work out, I will probably start on one of those. My car is maxed out in prep now (minus a swap to the newer HR motor)...so most of the expense is in the rear view. I'm going to give it this year, but may sell it over the winter.
