I also got my car weighed and need to dial in the corners... with driver i'm 2882 lbs (i'm about 30-40lbs overweight @215lbs haha ) and corners are: 666 (LF), 802 (RF), 832 (LR), 582 (RR)
Sheel, that comes out to a cross weight of 1634lbs and 56.7% which is way off. You need to reduce the weight by 97 pounds on right front, reduce by 97 on left rear, increase weight by 97 on left front and increase by 97 on right rear.

Are you sure the scales at VIR were on level ground? If so how did you do your current corner balance?

If you don't have a verifiable level and flat area to do a corner balance you're better off just setting the right and left side shocks to exactly equal lengths.
Thanks Rob, not sure about the level'dness of the scales at VIR, but unfortunately that was the only set of scales I had access to. However, I'd like to properly corner balance the car - recommend any shops I should visit?

As you mentioned, for now, I simply set the left and right sides to equal length - 13.0625" front and 13.125" in the rear. I didn't adjust anything at the track, though I was tempted to.

Jim - Is that your brother in HPDE2 with the turbo rx7? Noticed the same 'Hippo Racing' sponsor.
Yes it is, I doubt he will actually make it there with that car though, still waiting on parts. My bet is that he will be there in his swapped corolla again.

I'm going to instruct and TT at the Nov event.

If y'all are interested in any of these parts, I can bring them.

Matt,

You still got the horns? I wonder if they would be any better then the OEM horns on the Miata (which have major suckage).

So I went to change out my street pads for the race XP-10 pads. I found some marking on the inside of the rotor and corresponding marking on the brake pad. I think it is from the aluminum foil that I used to wrap the ball joints : / I think it transferred some aluminum onto the rotor and pad. Since aluminum is softer than steel, it clogged into the rotor and pad material. So now I have a dilemma, should I put XP10s on and risk contaminating them, just run street pads and hope aluminum will clear out, or go take rotors and get them turned :/ to clean that stuff off. Any advice guys?

On the side note... I got a new job in Westminster, and I've picked up a new Limited Edition TSX, 6-speed

Are your rotors chewed up? Or did the aluminum just leave surface material/deposits on the face of the rotor?
