I'm Jeff from Upstate (NY) and I'll be lurking on the Track Junkie thread(s) wanting to get down to VIR or Summit Point for a HPDE with the S2000.

I've raced small bore vintage at VIR at the 2011 Gold Cup, full course, finishing just about dead last! and on the South Course in 2012. It's about a 11 or 12 hour pull for me from Connecticut!

The SCDA 2013 dates for Watkins Glen are July 8-9.
The NASA NE dates for Watkins Glen are April 29-30 and September 27-28.

Watkins Glen is very "industrial" compared to VIR.

Although I've never been there, you guys might also consider the New Jersey Motor Speedway events. That track is in southern New Jersey.

NJMP has two nice tracks. Only about 2.5 hours from DC.

Oleg, have you tried the Kirkey aluminum seats? If not I highly suggest sitting in them. I was on a mission to go to OG and pick the Sparco that I liked the best. The Kirkey was way more comfortable. Obviously every body is different, but I would definitely try one out. While you're there you can try all of the Sparcos, too.

what about the weight difference between the seats? Is it significant?

Between the Kirkey and Sparco? I'm not sure. I'd check their websites for specs and see if they are listed.

Our lemons car has Kirkey, and it's really nice to sit in, I agree, but I also think that it's quite a bit heavier.

The road race intermediate is what I am getting. The Kirkey website lists the 16" model as weighing 15lbs. Add 2lbs for the cover and your at 17lbs. You would probably fit in the 15" model which I would assume weighs less. The Sparco Evo weighs 15lbs. The weight difference is so little that I would pick which ever seat you feel is more comfortable and look somewhere else for weight savings.

I use the Sparco Rev in my DE car. It is might be too tight for you, it is a tight fit for me. You are welcome to sit in it if you want.

I also have used a couple different seats in the race car but that is because we need to fit 4 different drivers.

I think you will have to mount a seat back brace if you use a Al seat.
