This is true. Shouldn't be difficult to do, but must get done.

So for those that haven't heard, my car is being totaled by insurance because of a stupid deer that ran into me. As tempting as it is to make it a full race car, I have no trailer or truck to tow it, nor a place to store it, so I don't think that is a very viable option.

I am buying it back from insurance and its drivable. Does anyone have any interest before or after I take it all apart and sell the pieces?

The damage is a bent a-pillar, its bent slightly in the middle where the deer hit, then pushed out a bit on the sides very slightly (I didn't even notice). A windshield still fits fine, but there is wind noise from the gap between the hard top and frame at the top. Also a smushed fender, door is bent a little where it touches the fender. Hard top also got a nice dent, but I'm going to keep that for now.

I can give you more details if you are interested. I am in no hurry it will be in my garage for the winter but I will have to turn in the title after 90 days.

that sucks man. being as the a-pillar is very structural point in the S. i myself would be worried if the structural integrity of the car would be hindered for future safety of racecar status.

not sure on how well insurance took care of you, but if your looking for another S. there seems to be some decent buys locally as of late on the forum

If you are putting a full cage in the car, you will have a bar going across the same area, so it won't matter.

or if you are an Autocrosser you could build one of these:

no A-pillar needed.

The car already had a salvage title from a previous accident that was repaired perfectly, but because of that insurance was not kind on the value of the car.
