Driving at Speed in the stock seats now is hard to do. I was expending way to much energy holding myself in place, both knees are bruised and sore.

Congrats on the great performance Pete and the team!

That's awfully late braking for a Crown Victoria. Any idea what caused the crash (other than idiocy)? The tires are squealing so the brakes appear to be working.

Idiocy? There was really a LOT of stupid ass driving at this specific event and several cars were completely destroyed during the race. In the past, Lemons $$ limitations had generally acted to keep speeds down but now cheating is rampant. This means that Lemons cars are getting faster and driver ability is still minimal (with some exceptions).

Faster cars + limited driver skill = more cars destroyed. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

I saw a lot more stupid stuff than usual during this race. The top ~20 cars are WAY, WAY faster than the rest of the field and are driving with 25 minute sprint race intensity. I am starting to prefer Chump Racing because the drivers seem a little more experienced (ie predictable).

Here is another Volvo that hit a concrete wall. The car is now L-shaped (can't really see it from the pic) and the engine block was cracked in the impact. The driver seat was destroyed in this hit as well. The driver walked out which was amazing.

I was glad to just bring it back in without damage. A guy dove down in front of me in the Karussel about 1/3 of the way in, went sideways and shot right back out of it. The next time around I saw a driveshaft on the upper level and a U-Joint between the lower level and banking, with a car off just beyond. I hope it was him.

wow!
that is crazy.

Aren't Volvos known for being very safe cars?

Glad you guys made it out ok. Btw, I didn't even know they made the Crown Vic in a factory turbo..or was that part of the cheating?

Yeah, that is amazing. I guess I meant to follow up with "If you are driving with a bunch of crazy/inexperienced/careless drivers in Lemons, the Volvo is a good platform to be using"

Hey btw Matt, tried to send you a PM but it said you can't receive new messages...is your PM box full?

Throw S2KI a few bones so you are a member and you won't have these issues.

My OEM black hardtop is for sale. PM me for details. I do not plan on advertising it on s2ki unless I cannot sell it to someone I know or via craigslist.
