Car looks great! I didn't know you installed overfenders, nice. What track day was this?

I find that I don't need to trail brake with the s2k. The car is more than anxious to turn in.

It was PDX/Club Trials with the WDCR-SCCA.
To turn in at 1 and 5 effectively, I have to load the front tires to get more traction, no alighment out there will make you turn in better, it'll just sacrifice the straight line braking ability‏ with too much camber and stiff tires... in my opinion.

How are the PDX events? Just as well run as NASA and Track Daze? Was it crowded on track?

I read somewhere that 2" belts will work without HANS but a 3" belt will distribute the considerable force from an impact better and probably be more comfortable as well.
I believe this is reversed. I have a HANS and a 3 inch harness. The 3 inch shoulder straps do not fit naturally into the shoulder groove on the HANS. By my experience, it is designed for a 2 inch strap.

Also for those designing their installations, the HANS sits up a good 1 to 1-1/2 inches above your shoulders. The shoulder strap is supposed to have, I believe, an angle of no more than 20 degrees as it comes up over the shoulder. If you are close, the extra height caused by the HANS could put you over the correct angle. Also you need to make sure that the harness holes on your seat will accommodate this additional height.

Just visiting. Cheers.

I do agree vith the above statement.....it does seem that 3in belts are a bit too wide for my HANS device....
The event was a bit hectic saturday...but I expected that, with it being the first event of the season for many and all. There was a lot of novices on saturday. Sunday, on the other hand, was great! Most of the novices signed up for one day only, so the event was a lot more relaxed sunday. Advanced group did not have many people at all....the track was crowded just enough to be able to play with each other.

Can't really judge on how the event was compared to other organizations....Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe people that are in charge of letting drivers in and out of track, as well as track workers, are pretty much the same regardless... I might be wrong though.

Definately enjoyed being back on track, and glad to be back in one piece

Thanks, do you need to purchase an SCCA membership like a NASA one to sign up?

I brought my car by the shop this last weekend so Dave could help with doing some work on it for me to get it ready. I got new rear hubs, all new bearings, new axles, diff collars, Matt's old J's camber joints, Eibach sway and finally made use of these Advan AD08 tires I had sitting in the basement.

To be fair, these are not the "latest wheels" But safety equipment should be next thing on the list.

Still waiting for the snow to melt up here. Hopefully I won't have to dig my trailer out of a snow bank for the NASA event in two weeks.

Anyone else running in H1 and not registered yet? I was hoping for a bigger field. As of right now its just me and my brother in H1.
