My instructor okayed me for solo after my first session, so for most of the time on track I was by myself. We only got to do three sessions today though because a huge storm came out of nowhere and they canceled the rest due to lightning. There were 3 S2000s in blue for this event, and we were pretty even. My instructor said it looked like a spec series LOL.

Also, one of the S2000s was behind us two and said all three of us were blowing smoke out our exhausts through some turns. So maybe I need to add a catch can too?
230 is perfectly fine for oil temps, IMO

Were they all AP1s blowing smoke? IIRC AP2s have a better valve cover design or something.

For those with AP2s, WASP finally released their full brake cooling kit for AP2s. I ordered myself a kit, I'm hoping the design of the heat shield replacement will lessen the frequency of rotor cracking.

230* is fine, but that's what the guy with the oil cooler was showing. Kevin, you should invest in some gauges to see what kind of temperatures your oil/coolant are seeing. Then you'll be making an educated decision on needing an oil cooler.

Nice brake cooling kit Jim.

I preordered a wasp kit. And have been checking the mail like a little kid everyday. Have been waiting to throw a ap2 bumper and cr lip on for awhile now.

this isnt working for me. I have had a ton of oil come out the front vent, so much so that I have a catch can and then a plastic water bottle. So a catch can for the catch can if you will. It got a lot of admiring stares from passersby at Hyperfest. I think West Virginians appreciated the rigged nature of the setup.

It would seem like even something like a cheap valve cover breather filter on the front port of the valve cover vs having that intake tube go into the intake would be preferable. That's what I've done at least..

Regarding oil temps.. I'll be interested to see how temps are at my next track event at Summit Shenandoah. I've got the plx gauge installed, just need to install the temp probe in the pan next time I do an oil change. Thing is, that it likely won't be in this very hot weather since the event isn't till October, but should be interesting none the less. It'll be nice to see exactly how hot oil temps are before looking into an oil cooler setup.

Random question - Is anybody going to be going to summit Point for the PCA HPDE next weekend? I just was wondering if I'd be the only S2k there.

Looking forward to Summit Main. Not looking forward to running top up.

Oops, you're right Matt, it didn't work for me either, even with an AP2 valve cover. I forgot that I had to go to a catch can on the front valve cover vent line with just a filtered vent on the catch can with no connection to the intake.

I haven't been there yet, but in the past, Rob and George have recommended this place:

What are your thoughts at this point? Full replacement or a rebuild of what you've got?
