I had a similar issue. Apparently some of the adjustments can also freeze up especially if your car came from a northern area that salts roads often. In some cases you can disasemble the assemblies and clean them up to make it easier from what I'm told. I'm sure it's a pain.
I had an adjustment pretty locked up a while back. My car was purchased new from Chicago.
