'00 and '01 rear tail lamp assemblies have actual part numbers and a number of these are always over produced to account for overstock. If one ever had to be replaced, a specific part number would be used to have the correct tail lamp sent.

In other words, an '01 rear tail lamp would be replaced with an '01 tail lamp (no chrome ring).
