Cops are using 350z's
i'm 98% sure that some, if not most of the cops driving those cars will be acting like asshats in them. they do it in the regular crown vics all the time, and even more in the chargers. i see it, at least in montgomery county, all the time.
I for some reason still find it hard to believe that they can legally use impounded cars for this purpose. It seems illegal to me. When a car is impounded that state does not gain rights to the vehicle. They dont technically own it so I dont see how this would be legal. Now if they built there own cars it would be completely different.

i know many people will disagree with me about this, or find the comment stupid. but i'm only speaking from personal experience. i, and many others, have seen cops act like real assholes on the road, kind of abusing the fact that they can't really be reprimanded for it. i'm not going to make a blanket statement and say that all cops are like that, cause i know they're not. but many of them are. and with the added fun factor/power/temptation of a modified sportscar, i predict that many of the cops who will be driving them will be even more so.
this doesn't negate the fact that they do a lot and put their lives on the line to keep the public safe in any way.

Why do these things keep coming up? Seriously... Don't you get it? We have these little things called laws. Like it or not, if you want to live in an organized, safe society, you need to buck up and shut it.
IF you are truly against this practice, write your county government or start a petition. DO NOT sit behind the safety of your computer and B&M about something you do not intend to take on.
The officers in the leading article are being overwhelmed by a culture of people who have little or no regard for the law. They said in the newscast that they had to remove illegal equipment from the Mustang. Street racing is dangerous to those that participate, watch, and are just going about their business. If this is what it takes to get that crap to stop they need to do it. Clearly there is a large number of folks that just don't get it.

I witnessed a horrible accident this morning on Route 7 just west of Leesburg. It happened because people drive too fast, follow too close, and only look out for #1. There are thousands of cars on the road around you and any given moment. Cut them some slack.
