Look... If you guys want to talk about whether or not you think this practice is right or wrong, go for it. I even encourge you to have a healty debate about it and even try to do something about it. I, personally, don't like the concept. I think it is legal theft.

BUT don't you dare insult or defame those that put it on the line every day so you and I can have our safe and comfortable lifestyles.

I think you should elaborate on what these cops are doing to look like asshats. Are they speeding around, cutting people off, driving fast?

Jeff, i never try to imply that i behave perfectly behind the wheel. i don't. i'm just saying that i think the cops will get even worse behind the wheels of these new cars.

i see cops put on the siren just to cut through red lights, cut people off, speed, and weave through traffic without signaling everyday. in DC, more than once (i commute to DC everyday) i've seen cops drift out of their lanes and cut people off while on the cell phone (illegal in DC). just yesterday, a cop cut me off without even looking while on his cell phone and the in-car computer at the same time. once a cop swerved around me going at LEAST 20mph above the speed limit on the curvy part of randolph road before veirs mill road. i don't think i need to list all of the incidents...

I realize that and I appreciate you owning up to it. My point is that if you do these things are you some sort of evil person? I don't think so. I mean... It ain't exactly kosher in my book but, hey, it happens... To me, too... If an officer has to bust a u-turn or pull out a little to quickly he is just driving like you and I and not unnecessarily and evil dude... Plus, how many times have you been pulled over for that sort of driving? I never have and I know I do it regularly. It is technically wrong? Of course but it is one of those things as a society we let ourselves get away with.

You have to remember, these guys are on the road as a part of their job. That means they are out there, in that frustrating environment, 500% more than you or I. Can you imagine? I'd pull my hair out.... If they pick up some of the bad habits of you and I as a result, so be it.

I think you are just pissed because they can get away with it and you have to pay if you get caught.

This thread is kinda pointless, everything comes down to knocking on the cops on this forum lately, makes me sick.

I dont care what the cops are using as cop cars, its because there are to many morons on the road. Noone can own up to their own mistakes anymore, always with the "how to beat the police" threads. How about obeying the law and driving normal, and if you dont, I really dont care what you got pulled over for and I'd rather see you pay the fine and get the points, might teach ya a lesson.

Hell Ive been pulled over more than anyone around here lately, but it was MY FAULT and I never once question the officers judgement in pulling me over or ticketing me, I made my bed and I'm lying in it. DEAL WITH IT, have some accountability.

what do you think they do all day...drive around? Did it ever occur to you that they are out serving your area and keeping you safe. I guess if a close friend or family member were in danger you would prefer the cop to take his time getting to their service You are out of place criticizing these police officers
