Were you nailed by the Photo speed enforcement? If you were there will not be any points, you will just have to pay the fine. Otherwise I believe all 48 contiguous states have reciprocity with one another (you are screwed if convicted of the violation). My son got a ticket in Illinois several years ago and wound up having his lic suspended because of it (MD lic).

I got nailed about a year ago, 66 in a 50. My fine was a $100.

The photo enforcement areas are always the same, I have learned them and watch for the law.

My commute takes me onto the Anacostia parkway (295 thru DC).

John, I don't think all 48 states are on board just yet.

dave22, can you confirm this?

Well, if you were on the Parkway (which Parkway??), sounds like the U.S. Park Police (Feds), not DC.

yup. its a DC ticket. It was on Canal Road/pwkway right after Georgetown university .. It was a cop with laser that hit me right as i switch lanes from behind a SUV. if i had stayed behind the suv 5 seconds longer the SUV would of got hit i think.

Looks like on the back of the ticket i can pay the fine and submit an explanation to possibly not have points applied.

I think i'll go that route

Only certain states can do this. Maryland and Va are two of them. Not all states are in cahoots with one another. lol
