Default Gonna use Amsoil...

Not posting this for any promotional reasons. I suspect there will be folks that have no interest in using synthetic motor oil in their S2000. So for those folks, no real reason to bother posting anything here.

In fact, not really looking for this post of mine to be responded to for any reason. I just wanted to let our local members know that I'll be using it in my S, and if you were to ever have any questions about Amsoil, then just tuck my name in your memory cells and PM me with your questions, etc.

Won't get the oil & filter until Thursday at the earliest...although I hope to change my oil over Friday so that I'll have the fresh synthetic in the car for a dyno on Saturday.

Anywayz...again...just a heads up.

Dave,

What substantial difference (other than price) would Amsoil make in your S2000 with nearly 30k miles?

I've been using Mobil 1 since my oil change at 10k miles. With nearly 26k miles on the odometer now, I can't honestly say that I see, hear or feel a difference but knowing that I am using a better (if not best) oil for my baby makes me do this ---> !

I'm just curious as to your decision.

I've known of the product with Goldwing members that have appreciated it in their bikes. Longer between oil changes (while still protecting the motor) is the primary reason. I'm actually expecting to get a product from them that extends changing the oil to every 35K miles (or 6 months). Definitely a duration that I'm *not* used to. However, the filter gets changed every 17.5K miles (which is, of course, once between changes). I'm putting some serious miles on this car and basically changing oil every 2 months or so. Bleh. Additionally to your question, there have been folks (including Spa-MC on this board) that have used Amsoil and found a couple MPG improvement as well. Lastly, it offers an extremely decent warranty (motor replacement) should an engine fail due to lubrication issues -- provided owner uses Amsoil oil & filter.

Just felt it was a no-brainer (for me...and only for me -- I am *not* preaching this stuff...).
