Default Help with brakes

Hey guys I prob need new brake pads and/or rotors soon and got a quote from the dealer for $350 + tax to resurface rotors (just front, rears are $355) and get new pads, or to get new rotors run $143 ea. Would anybody help with the labor for substantially less, maybe a case of beer or a handle and dinner or something? Also, I was looking at a Wilwood 4 piston BBK for the front since it is a pretty good deal. Does anybody know how to install one of those? I don't really track the car right now so that may just be overkill.

All of those jobs can be very easy. Have you looked through the DIY section in the "Under the Hood" section? Lots of info about BBKs and brake jobs.

1. Don't buy a BBK.

2. Upgrading rotors does nothing.

3. Replace fluid.

4. You can purchase OEM rotors and pads from Hardtopguy.com or aftermarket pads from BrakeSwap.com.

5. I'd be willing to swap rotors/pads all around. Fee and location to be discussed.

Sincerely,
Skip

Seems like Mr. Tire, NTB, Midas or someplace like that quoted me either $20/ea. or $40/ea. (can't remember) to turn the rotors. This was last fall or so and I just haven't done it yet. I thought about it when I was moving my spare set of used rotors that are sitting around and was thinking at the time that I should have them turned but never got around to it.

I can get you OEM or generic rotors. The generics are $110/pair and the Premiums are $100 each. I wouldnt bother turning them. Might as well buy the generics for a little more.

I have all kinds of pads depending on what youre lookign to do. If its daily driver type stuff you can get some PBR/Axxis generic pads for like $40 or better Nissen OEM-type for $50. If you want to get "performance" street pads like Hawk HPS or Carbotech Bobcats, I can arrange to get those too, but they are considerably more.

I can get the ATE Rotors for like $70-75 each, they are nothing special, just have a cool wear indicator etched in the rotor. That will save you a little money, but you would have to come pick them up, since I'm sure shipping will be crazy expensive.
