Default Help w/ VAFC 2

Hey guys, I was hoping someone local might be able to take a look at my VAFC 2 installation. I am having this problem:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry5108450

Basically, if I stay in VTEC too long (like at the track), my car won't let me get back into VTEC and gives me code: DTC P1259, Vtec system failure

If I turn the car off and back on I can Vtec again for short spurts but I can stay up there (like around a track).

If I reset my ecu the code will come back under the same conditions.

I would appreciate if someone more experienced with this kind of thing would take a look at my VAFC 2 installation/setup as I did not install it on the car (the previous owner did).

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

J

Your settings have to be off. I ran a Vafc II back in the days for about a year and had no issues at all. Grab the manual and start from the start.

Dylan, so you think it's my settings and definitely not my physical wiring?

Also, I don't have a manual and don't feel confident tuning my own car. Would anyone be willing to give me a run through on the VAFC 2 if the problem is my settings and not wiring?

Thanks,

J

I suspect that you either have a VAFC wiring problem, defective VAFC, defective VTEC solenoid, or oil pressure problem. If your VTEC works sometimes, but not all the time, it has nothing to do with settings.

You're not using the frog harness?... If you're not, you should pick one up, It eliminates all possible wiring issues.

The setup on the vafc is easy, you just need to put in the proper parameters and you can leave the tuning as is or set it all to zero and then take it in to get tuned.
