thats the thread about TCT and where ppl have switched away from mobil 1 and noise went away

look at pwe312's post on page 26 and billardboy904's post on page 24
the whole thread has a big number of bad TCT's for ppl who used mobil 1, i think its mobil 1 causing the problom.

after i switched to amsoil sythetic 10w30 and BG moa the TCT noise went away its been about a week and have driven the crap out of it.
i guess ill just leave it alone unless it happens again, looks like a common problom with TCT's going bad for ppl that use mobil 1, i can also say the car starts up and runs better with amsoil
Nice!! where did you get the amsoil from? i'm going to make this switch myself.

should i take the chance of doing WTD without putting a new one in because i know it'll be a couple days of driving hard.
That is a tough one. I am inclined to suggest you replace it before you leave for two reasons. 1) Fontanna is a HELL of a long ways away and in the middle of no-where and 2) really bad things happen when this thing goes.

Paying $120 now versus $3000 (or more) later for a new engine just makes more sense to me.
