Unhappy Need some help

My 2004 s2000 has been acting weird, I had the electric power steering and rack & pinion replaced through warrenty a couple months ago, and right now it handles like crap. Im not sure if thats because my tires suck or if somethings wrong with my suspension. I thought ide ask some of you local s2000 guys if anyone can take alook at my car and maybe diagnose the problem before I take it back to the acura dealership. Another thing is, I feel like the car lost power.. It just seems sluggish and lagging, and when I shift it jerks.. I dont drive the s2000 much because the tires need to be replaced, so I thought it was just cuz I wasnt used to shiftin in it, but I took it for a ride today and shifted as granny as I could and it still feels weird.. not sure if the clutch needs to be replaced, or if its a tranny problem, or something to do with the motor.. Ide really appreciate it if someone who is technical savy can take a ride with me to help me with my problems before I get warrenty involved.

Thanks.

if you have warrenty just take it back to the dealership and explain your concerns.. and im sure you dont have to go back to radley you could go to any honda dealership.. but radley will feel more oblagated(sp check) to help you out since that is where you purchased the car.

Yes, Youre right. I can take it to a Honda dealership but Ide have to pay $50 to have em look at it because the warrenty is through Radley. I can just keep taking it back to Radley, but it is a good distance from my house and Ide feel better having an idea of what the problems could be before I take it back, and if its something that I can fix myself, or something that is wear & tear (tires, clutch etc.).

How's about, if your sports car is in need of tires (for safety's sake if nothing else)...get those replaced. And then in doing so, you should be able to eliminate tire wear for all the other mechanical things you're indicating you've lately been picking up on with your S2000. Just a thought. I realize replacing the rubber on this car can be a bit pricey...but its a necessary evil of car (if not 'sports car') ownership to assure it sticks to the road.

PS. FWIW, I can't see tire wear as impacting some of the issues you're bringing up with your S2000...at least the 'lost power' feeling .

well if everytime you shift you are spinning it could cause the feel of power loss. And if your tires are that bald to where they are spinning easily you probably cant hear it either!! Be careful in the rain bro.

thanks. ive been trying but i got laid off from my job so ive been livin on savings so i havent been drivin the s2000 much. I have a couple things on the fs threads, if those go, new tires will go on. yea some of the issues that im dealing with could be cause the rack & pinion were replaced recetly. so im going to try the tires and see if that makes the floating feeling any better

im not spinning tires when im shifting. it feels more like im spinning the clutch. ive been driving manual for a long time, all 3 of my cars have been manual, but it just feels like im shifting wrong, which cant be the case because i drove around shifting at 3 and feathering the clutch/gas, still jerks. i read somewhere that a loose throttle cable could make it feel like that, so as soon as the weather clears up im gonna mess with that a bit.

Yup loose throttle cable could do that, because I just did mind last week and it makes a difference. My cable was so loose I only have 4 threads left at the end after I got it to snag with a very little play on the cable.
