I understand that completely Dave. Good, Motivated indivduals to take on a task such as this are hard to find. As a past CO (right?) you know this better than most.

The approach I am trying to present is one that removes complications of having a NOVA or SOVA based CO coordinate an event so that MD folk can easily attend. The NOVA CO would (on the surface) have the added responsibility of attempting to include MD folks....more so than the SOVA CO. and vice versa....

With the absence of our other esteemed CO from the MD area, there has been very little going on up here. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

I'm a project manager by trade, so everything I do has a plan, a date and a goal....Its a harzard of my profession and it spill over my life on the outside.

You are correct Dave. My thoughts are great in principle, and hopefully discussing different aspects will help to move us forward in the Post Pointy era.
Perhaps SweetJ is monitoring this and will add her $.02. Will we truly be CO-less after Jan 20?

I've received quite a few PM's from people wanting to take the NOVA/MD slot over or become the third CO.

Alex, first off, you are a great CO, friend, and all around good guy, we have all benifited from knowing you. I also agree that the CO should have an S in order to have the same desire to organize drives, meets, etc. Not that your owning an M and being a snob has had any impact on the Mid-A or anything...

Just kidding, but one questions remains...

Who is the J person and how would I know if I ran into them?

Mark - you're funny

My PM box has been working overtime since I started this thread, and I have read some fantastic ideas - I've also regained faith that there are quite a few individuals who care a whole lot about the future of the Mid-A

I'll propose this - if there is more than one new CO, I'll be a third wheel CO as a trainer/moderator till the other 2 can stand on their feet by themselves.

Thanks for great suggestion. That will work fine, I think. Great job!

Alex, I am really sorry to hear about your decision to step down as Community Organizer. You did an amazing job as CO for the Mid-Atlantic Community over the past 1.5 years.

You and I both know that you did not take this position for any personal gain, but instead to help the Mid-Atlantic Community as a whole. I would like to ask a favor of you though. I don't want to come across as an ass, but it needs to be stated. Please hold off stepping down as Community Organizer until the Mid-A CO situation has been resolved. For some who don't know what I am talking about, just take a look around us. SweetJ, the other half of our Mid-Atlantic CO Team is MIA. I know that I do not post nearly as much as I used to, but anyone can see that you are the only one leading the Community right now.

I do not know if SweetJ has been in contact with you, or what is going on. Please though, hold off until she will either do what is best for Mid-Atlantic and step down herself, or give us the leadership that we need as a community.

-Chad

One word should jog this old man's memory.

"Purple."

Alex.. I tried to leave our community as a CO when I sold my S.. even though I will be buying another one.. they kinda made me stay CO..

You've done a great job and are a good friend and member to the community. Glad your still modding though. Good Luck with whatever you decide and thanks to you and the Mid-A I was warmly welcomed on the S2kI forums some 2+ years ago. I'm behind your decision and if you need anything let me know.
