get your money back and find another car...i'm sure you can find a similar deal out there, and you don't need this headache.

Misfire codes could mean the spark plugs are bad.. the capacitors are bad... it could mean a rack load of crap. Just get your mula back and ask one of the fella's on the boards that work at a dealership for a deal. At least if they screw up you can hunt them down here. haha..

Yup. Get another one while you can. There are plenty of them available right now.

Well I called the dealership and spoke with the salesman who sold the car to me. He told me that he would talk it over with the Gen. mgr. tom. AM and he would then give me a call. I was told earlier that they had an exchange program, if I didn't like the car. But being that there are mechanical issues with this vehicle, do they have to give me my money back, if I request it?

Hi,

I purchased on April 1st, (my dream car) a 2002 Berlina Black S2000 with 36,000 miles on it. The excitement was short lived. After putting about fifteen miles on the car, my engine light (MIL) came on. I took it the local Honda dealership I purchased it from, to have it checked out. They told me that it needed replacement plugs and a valve adjustment. After completing the work, the dealership calls me, to tell me to pick it up. When I pick up the car the check engine light is still lit. I take the keys back in and tell them that the light is still on. I am then told by the service reps. that I need to leave the car for an additional day, so they can cold start it and drive it (hoping that may provide some insight.) Well this is day three without my new (to me) car, and the dealership still doesn't know what to do to rectify the problem. Has anyone had this same experience with their car? For reference the misfire caodes were 301 302 303.

At this point I am feeling really discouraged in the dealerships ability to fix this problem.
dood u got i think 30 days to return a car you purchased. DOnt even deal wit it, return it and demand another one. Oh and is this a certified honda? Certified is the only way to go, but when a car is throwin codes man that aint good speciallyl if u just bought it, means they knew about the problem before hand. DOnt let them dick u around and say they will fix it. You shouldna have to have a car fixed u just bought. The next one u get, make sure its Certified Honda only. I would do a carfax on it if not done so already. Good luck man.

The saga continues..... I made a trip to the dealership an hour ago to damand my money back, only to have my armor stripped from me. I was informed that they cannot and will not return my money. They did tell me that they could fix my engine, put a new engine in the car or find another car for me. I left the dealership and stopped by my lawyers office. My lawyer informed me that the lemon law is not applicable to used vehicles. He did tell me that the dealership is required under law to provide me with, at the time of purchase, any past issues the vehicle may have had.

I return to work, armed and ready to call the dealership back only to find that the sales mgr at Checkered Flag Honda of VA Beach had left me a message stating, "we just purchased a 2002 slver/red s2000 with 37k. Would you being willing to swap?" Hell no I don't want to swap. I held out for a Berlina Black with black interior and that is what I want.

So I called the sales mgr. Of course he was unavailable. So, I called the salesman back and told him I didn't want the silver/red s2000. I paid for a triple black s2000. I want a triple black s2000. I also informed him of my conversation with my lawyer. He seemed unfazed by that fact that I had spoken with a lawyer and by the information I had just given him. I did tell him that there was a 2002 blerlina black with a hard top in jersey I would trade mine for. I am currently awaiting a phone call from the sales mgr. for some decision.

I believe the law is that once you have driven it across the curb you have taken delivery of the vehicle. It is up to the dealership if they want to do something for you or not. Good Luck.

Sounds like bad gas in the car or fouled plugs. If the car has been moved around on the car lot without being driven for some time it will foul the plugs. I wouldn't panic yet
