The 3251 is a 32" LCD, a bit smaller than I would like (I want SD programming to be roughly the same size on screen as my current 32" CRT). Samsung makes some of the highest quality LCD panels (currently using a 19" model with my computer), so you definitely can't go wrong with PQ on those.
Which brings me to another question... should I purchase the extended warranty? With most purchases I would say no, but most of the comments I've seen online have said the extra warranty is a huge plus on this type of item.

There is a 4051D, not sure of the price though. I did see on slickdeals that Best Buy is selling the 32" Westinghouse W6 for $699 and you can use the 12% off coupon on tvs 32" and smaller... so maybe larger Westinghouse is on sale as well?
I'll have to look at the list of tvs I had written down.
I would buy the extra warranty (depending on the price). BB offers 2,3,4 year warranties. It entitles you to one LCD or DLP bulb replacement, which is about $200 for the part I believe.
I went to BB yesterday (day before?) to check them out in person. Online the 37" 1080p Westinghouse is listed as $1,349 (on sale, 10% off), list price of $1,499. When I looked at the in-store pricing, however, the list was $1,544 and the guy said there was no sale on it. The price I looked at was for the 1080i model (do they even make a 1080i in this model?). He showed me on the in-store web, and sure enough they show the 1080p as $1,544. When I checked it again at home, my original price was still there.
Just something to keep in mind when shopping... their in-store prices do NOT always reflect what's on the web, and it was obvious the guy wasn't going to give me the lower price. No matter, I'm not going to buy it until I get up there anyway. He also mentioned that their big sales will start next weekend anyway (SuperBowl time).

When do you actually move? What I did before I moved in my last apartment was buy the tv, but have it delivered to the apartment on the day I moved in. Typically it's cheaper to have it delivered than risk moving it.

1080i was definitely a misprint. Digital TVs in general can't natively display an interlaced signal. Thats something only CRTs can do (its the nature of the display). With interlaced signals a digital TV will deinterlace it. This is where the differences between TVs comes in. Even if they use the same LCD panel, the chips inside the TV that do deinterlacing and upscaling are usually different.
The Westinghouse I recommended uses a Faroudja chip for deinterlacing. Its rated as one of the best deinterlacing chips on the market. Some TVs (certain Samsung models included) don't do deinterlacing properly, many take the first frame, double the lines and throw away the second frame entirely! This is one of the worst ways to deinterlace.
Here's an article detailing some new 1080p TVs and how well they deinterlace 1080i: http://www.hometheatermag.com/hookmeup/1106hook/
They pack everything up tomorrow, load the truck Tuesday, I have my failed paint job lawsuit mediation Wednesday morning (followed by a short trip up to my parents in G'ville later that night), and I hit the road early Thursday morning. I'll stay at Emily's parent's place for the night and drive the extra hour to my place Friday morning. My stuff should arrive sometime between that Friday and Monday, so I'll possibly pick the TV up that weekend (anyone have a need for a 32" RCA CRT?
It's coming with me, but after I pick up the LCD it's going to sit in the corner like a bad kid.

I'm told my stuff should be there Friday morning, and I have the Comcast guy showing up later that evening to set up my net, phone, and cable (HD, of course
). Best Buy's site lists delivery dates in late November... not sure I can wait that long for my LCD. Anyone with a truck available this coming weekend for a quick pickup (beers are on me)? Of course, this also assumes they have one in stock (evidently a problem for the Westy 37w3).
BTW, the Westy price has jumped back up to $1,420, but they BB sales kid said the big sales will run from this coming weekend until SuperBowl.

Ah! This is specifically for HDDVD and BluRay when using a "High Definition DVD" player...
Is there any other way to watch movies?
The 37" 1080p Westinghouse is near impossible to get, so I looked a bit during lunch and found the Sharp Aquos 42" 1080p at Circuit City for $2k. I also have a 10% discount coupon from my US Postal Service Moving package, bringing it down to $1,800 (now it's a damn fine price).
I'm going to see if Best Buy will match/beat that price, as I'd rather stick with BB over CC, try and have it delivered in the next week (unless someone is willing to help me pick it up <nudge nudge>
).
Anyway, if this is not a good deal (or an awesome deal), someone please give me a ring and let me know... thanks!

Mac - I have heard a lot of mixed reviews when it comes to the 1080p Aquos TVs. Many have complained of blurry pictures and much lower quality than the previous gen 720p Aquos TVs. Definitely check avsforums for reviews and opinions before you bite. Sorry I couldn't provide more input.
Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. BB would match the CC online price of $2k but wouldn't honor the 10% coupon. So to CC I went...
After some dickering, they basically price-matched the BB protection plan... $250 for 3 years (close enough), dropped the shipping fees (who charges shipping on such a large ticket item anymore? Maybe that's why BB is kickin' their ass!), and took the 10% off of the $2k web price (in store it was the same as BB at $2,067).
So, for a whopping $2,157 I just picked myself up a sweet-ass 42" Sharp Aquos 1080p. It's more than I intended to spend originally, and a larger screen too, but the one I wanted was no where to be found... fo rthe extra few hundred I think I did all right
