Maaaan, when I grow up, I wanna be rich like you . You didn't hear us recommending sites like www.bluejeanscable.com? Don't go there *now*...you'll kick yourself when you see the prices .
Yea, I bought two cables (one was too short ) for 1/2 the price of your one cable!

Well, it may not have been $70 - maybe $50.

Yup, that's what I'm using. I'd rather use that then have to go back to comcast and possibly get a box that has issues.
My other HD box was HDMI, but the primary tuner had issues. So I returned it.

ordered the Oppo... The Denon is, how should I say... less than inspiring? The menus, usability, etc leave me feeling dirty and about 10 years in the past

The Oppo doesn't have component out, but I don't give a damn at this point. I want DIGITAL (AND it comes with a friggin' HDMI cable - imagine that!).

I have lost audio when I hooked up HDMI through DVI adapter--is this normal? Does audio make it through DVI?

I use my reciever for audio, so this is not a big problem, just rounding out some knowledge.

Pretty sure DVI is a video-only format, which would explain it. I'm planning on a coax or optical audio connection, anyway.

The HDMI box costs $5 per month more than the regular box. My bro in AZ has the same box, though, and a similar setup (50-in Panasonic), so I know it works well. I'll find out for sure tonight when I plug in that very expensive HDMI cable!!
