I have a Denon remote and its OK but I don't use it much if at all.

I picked up the 880 for $104 shipped from Dell, a bargain.

The couple of quirks I was referring to are that the device commands don't seem to be layed out very logically and when I select "Watch TV" everything will power up correctly and the TV will be on the last viewed channel. With 5-10 seconds the channel will then jump to a random channel. I also think the housing is a little to smooth causing it to shift around in my hand during operation. All small things but still. Do you guys have to power down in order to get new activities to power up correctly? I think I have to go in and reassign some of the controls on the receiver side. Things like "<INPUT>DVD" to "DVD".

Anybody know about HTPC sound? I can't get sound over my HDMI from the PC. I can use an optical out if necessary but I prefer using less cable.

I don't have to power down to get new activities to work, no.

And I feel you on the remote being a little too slippery and the buttons being a little too smooth... It's almost always a two-handed affair or some serious cramping.

Otherwise it sounds like maybe you need to reset a couple of your activities there.

I would, but it doesn't do RF.

Haven't had a chance to play with any HDMI video cards. From a hardware / PnP standpoint I would think it would work best if the video card had integrated sound, otherwise you would have to do some sort of mapping from your sound card -> video card to output over HDMI. Know what I mean??

I think I know what you mean. My setup is a little different though. I have a HD motherboard with onboard 1080p HD video and sound. Does that mean the audio and video are/aren't integrated, I don't know. I kind of assumed so but maybe not.

Yea, I wouldn't assume just because they are both onboard. What motherboard is it? I just built a Q6600 rig a couple months back. I'm still loving it, but it could use a bit more RAM. I think that's where the bottleneck is.

"HDMI and DVI (via the HDMI->DVI-Adapter) works but I could not get sound to go through the HDMI-connection. Probably a driver issue. I found somewhere that it needs a RealTek HD Audio over HDMI driver or something."

Maybe that helps you.. ? It's not much to go on, but it's all I found.
