Sweet, I just googled the driver and it looks like it might help. If it does, I owe you, you just saved me a bunch of time.

Thanks, I'll try it later and let you know if it works.

After 5 hours, no dice. I have to uninstall the Microsoft UAA HD drivers but I can't find a way to make them go away premanently. When I do I have to install the Realtek drivers and then maybe I'm good to go. I may just go with optical cable.

Sometimes that stuff is like a virus. It just doesn't want to be removed. Uninstall -> reboot, and out of nowhere it's reinstalling itself. Time to back up your files and reinstall Windows -- this time without UAA.

Changing gears in the conversation a bit now...

My wife got my birthday present for me a few weeks early this year. Turns out she got me a PS3, the blu-ray remote, and an HDMI cable. We (I) hooked it up yesterday and tested it out. Wow is it beautiful. We've got it running on the Sony KDS-55A3000 and hooked up by optical digital out to my 'spensive but outdated 5.1 audio and it's very nice.

My only complaint so far is that I can't use my Harmony remote to control it. I had gone from 5 remotes down to 1 and now I'm up to 2 again...

A must-have title is Master & Commander(Blu-Ray). Even on the older format(DTS), it sounds awesome. When you upgrade and listen to it in DTSHD-MA, you will immediately realize ear orgasms.

Congrats on the acquisition. FWIW, I still have to use the controller as my remote.

PS3 is Bluetooth, so that is correct that the Harmony will not work. Sonyfail.

usually it could be in a couple of places. prefetch, driver\cache or you still have the install INF file somewhere. if you remove the INF file, it doesn't know how to reinstall and voila

Well, I've read about people putting an IR adapter in one of the USB slots on the front and then getting the Harmony to talk to it that way.
