New Poll Finds Consumers Not Wild About Blu-ray

It's kind of funny. Since BD won out, we have purchase only a single BD disc. Before that, we purchased many discs- mostly HD-DVD's, but BD's, too.

Nice remotes, a little quirky but very user friendly. I have a 880.

the 890 will serve you well. i opted for an 880 last year at a killer price.
you'll enjoy the RF. uploading new codes to the remote is a snap. the macros are pretty cool too. with one press of a button to "game," the xbox 360 comes on, plasma turns on and switches to video 1, and the receiver turns on to switches input to game.

Even though the controlling person is in the front row, I opted for the RF one because sometimes, just sometimes, that person is in the back row. And even though that row is on a riser, a bottom component requires the remote to be lifted into the air. No more. I wouldn't call the 880/890 quirky at all. Have you ever used a Denon remote? Those are painful.

Damn, we're a lazy society. I remember when.....

I also have the 880 and pretty much love it. Setting up custom functions isn't necessarily all that user-friendly, but once you've got the quirks of PROGRAMMING it out of the way, it's great.

I've got the lowly 550 and I love it. My friend has an 880 and he loves it. The 890 sounds like it'd solve the two biggest complaints: batteries and line of sight. I just can't justify spending almost as much on a remote as a bluray player. ($350 for remote and $399 for PS3).
