Default Owning an S2000 in NOVA/DC

Hello there

I had an '04 S2000 for 4 years in WI in which I had the resources to garage during the winter months, so never had to worry about snow fall and how it handles in the snow.

Now I'm relocating to Northern VA around DC and was curious if owning an S2000 as a daily driver, year round was a possibility. I heard it doesn't snow much there, obviously much less than it does here, but like I mentioned I always had a beater SUV I could drive during the winter months.

So my question is how many of you use your S2000 as your daily commuter and use it year round, even during the winter months? And, how difficult is it?

Thanks in advance for any information you may provide

i used to DD my s2000. it has a supercharger, ACT clutch, and 4.77 gears, extreme perf summer tires and no problems. it snowed like 2 days the entire last year where i actually couldn't drive it. you just have to drive carefully. rarely will there be a day where you simply cannot drive it.

I DD mine and im a bit North of VA, by the PA line. Ive had no problems at all with it as my DD of two years. Like 4bang said, just be careful when you drive it. The only problem i have is the damned salt on the roads + a black car dont mix very well. Neither do cold weather and washing it.

i DD mine in Baltimore. i even took it up to syracuse ny for a weekend in January and it was fine there. def gotta keep the RPM's low, but that was with like 5 feet of snow on the ground and the roads plowed, you'll be fine here IMO.

No worries in Nova. I'm from DC area, in richmond currently. The s2k got out of the snowy parking spot with direzza z1's as well as my bmw with winter tires. I wouldn't worry about it

The only real difficulty is other drivers in the winter!! Panic sets in when a flake falls. We've not had much snow to deal with the past few years, with the occasional exception - several inches. Ice sometimes, but that is a problem for any car, not just the S.
