does anyone drive the s2000 in snow w/winter tires
hello everyone,
i am new to this group, but i am looking to buy a used (2000-2003) s2000 (hopefully as soon as possible) i was wondering if anyone out there has attempted, or currently drives their s2000 in the snow with winter tires? (or is this complete lunacy!) hehe (i live in colorado)
the s2000 will be my daily driver, but i'm also considering an acura rsx type s... the s2000 is the clear "pure" sports car choice... but again, i'm worried that i may not be able to drive it in the winter months with a good set of winter tires, currently i have a crx that i would more than likely keep if i had to for winter driving... but then... that limits driving the s2000 for a bit in the winter. (i'm sure putting it away for those months would eat at me)
so that's the choice, since i could drive the rsx all year
i have yet to find any info on snowy/winter s2000 driving experiences... so any advice would be greatly appreciated,
mark

First of all Mark,
What is your experience with tightly balanced, unforgiving RWD cars and in winter time?
If S2000 is going to be your first RWD car then I highly recommand you not to drive S2000 in winter time. I didn't say not to get it. Don't drive it in winter time until you are comfortable with the car.
I drove last winter through with my S2000 with Blizzaks. It was perfectly fine. But alot of common senses are required while driving your S2000 in winter time. Also, keep in mind, if you attempt to drive your S2000 like your FWD cars, you will get in big trouble.
As far as winter capability goes. There are many people on board drives their S2000 in winter time with dedicated winter tires. However, you live in Colorado. Snows more up there than rest of the country I believe. S2000 isn't best car to be driven around where you live. I strongly suggest you re-evaluate your purchase decision but if you have to have the car, then I hope you have daily driver as well.

Who has the link to XViper's video of the drag races in the snow?
Classic!
Yes, many people drive their S2000's all year round thanks to snow tires. I'm sure we'll get some of those crazy, snow-loving Canadians to chime in soon.
(For the record, I love all you Canadians out there!)
