Hmm? You could try a little more preload on the springs. We had them just a turn in from finger tight.

Maybe call Buddy Club and see what they recommend.

This just could be the nature of these shocks, they may just be clunky. Try the under the hood section and see if others with the same dampers have similar noises.

yep we sure did.. it's not the shocks....or at least not from what we could tell....

we were pushing down on the car from the drivers side rear and you could feel it though the fender like something was hitting it.. i can't really explain the sound....

it's like if you had a piece of metal...and then you poke a screw driver at it...and then the piece of metal pops back... thats the type of sound it makes ...(if that makes any sense) and you can feel it vibrating though the rear quarter pannel... the actual sound of impact definently sounds away from the shocks itself...
Was the rear sway bar ever disconnected? Are the shocks on the right side? (not sure if it matters?)

Check the fuel inlet again, that is connected to the fender, maybe there is something missing that keeps it isolated.

Rear sway bar was never disconnected. Shocks are on the right side. Fuel inlet is correct. 3 bolts. This noise has been driving me nuts, and it's not even my car!

Other than the noises, how did the car drive?

Was it bouncy?

Turn up the damping to full stiff see if it makes a difference.

Maybe the shocks have internal problems?

i took it for that quick spin and the ride seemed fine.... this noise is just wierd .. i even sat in the truck to try to figure out where it was..... everything seemed fine.. i got under the car.. and nothing seemed to be rubbing or touching something that it shouldn't... nothing was hitting the rear quarter pannel as far as i could see.....

this issue is very nutty i tell ya..

Well I did a search in the under the hood section

There seems to be a lot folks with same problem. a blown shock seems to be the problem in many cases
