Plea for help
I would like to track my car, but I dont think I'd really depend on ANY buddyclub setup for serious tracking. If I was to get serious I'd go buy a higher end setup. I was looking for something just a little bit firmer and something to lower the car a bit. I am hoping the seller gets my link and finds his way to this thread fast.
Ive ridden in a buddy club equiped car on a track... was impressed, they do well on the track...
most of the canadian track guys use them...
the car I rode in wasnt a member of the "road block", gfactor!

I know the seller of the Buddy Club shocks, Tukata, personally and have known him for 7+ years. He's a completely honest guy who would not hesitate to refund your money if he thought he was at fault.
the problem is...
1. I've riden in and driven his car when he had these installed and they did not make any noises.
2. He loosened the spring perches to clean the shocks before mailing them to you. They were mailed with the perches being nowhere near tight and nowhere near the correct height.
3. When you received them, you admitted to him that you simply put them on your car without checking the perch height or tightness of the perches at all.
4. You've also admitted to riding on the bump stops for almost a week. That's probably why one of your shocks is blown. I assure you it was not blown when you received them. His car had at least 1-2 finger gap between tire and fender when these were installed.
So now that you've improperly installed the shocks and blown one--if not several--of them, you've filed a claimed against him through paypal to get your money back???
Tukata may be a relatively new S2KI user, but he has a significant amount of car knowledge and integrity to not rip you off or be unaware of blown shocks.
I think you need to accept your mistake and move on.

1. I never claimed they made a noise on his car.
2. They were not cleaned and were A PAIN to adjust because of that
3. yes I put them on my car because you have to do that to see what needs adjusting and they were tightened
4. I havent even had them for a week....how the hell do you figure Ive ridden on the bump stops for that long. ALSO if you read the thread...you will see I was wrong...it was NOT itting the bump stops...I also have a 1-2 finger gap and still making a noise.
I filed with paypal because he did NOT respond to my messages and paypal has 45 days to file. If yo uread my payapal claim...WHICH I HAVE A COPY OF...you will see I clearly stated the seller was cooperative but not responding there for leaving me with a car I cant drive to work. He didn't even include the wrenches or nuts!....I didn't make a big deal about any of this...I just want my money back. If you want to start something go ahead.
Get your damn facts right dude.
If anyone is curious about my paypal claim here it is since I saved a copy.

So far the seller has been cooperative, but it is taking too long to get this resolved. I'm sure he is busy, but I have no mode of transportation now. I purchased a coilover suspension setup from him at a fair price. I received the package from him in ok time. The system looks ok, but I have taken the car to a shop in Herdon Virginia and have had 4 people including myself work on it at the shop.
Everything was documented on our forum:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=341365
The car was worked on:
Wed November 30th 9:30pm-2:30am Thursday (2 people working on it)
Thurs Dec 1st 4:00pm-6:00pm (3 people working on it)
Sunday Dec 4th 1:30pm-4:30pm (4 people working on it)
That's 30 man hours invested. I also compensated people's help with valuable goods to avoid paying cash (about $750 worth of goods). I also left work early to get this resolved. I have done everything to get this working well and to make sure it is faulty equipment and not a mistake.
I contacted the seller stating I would like to go ahead and return the merchandise and I will even pay for shipping back to him in exchange for the $700 I paid for the equipment.

I dont think ANYTHING I said was unreasonable.

OK i'll make my post after reading everything.
First off I am fairly new to s2ki, but I am nowhere new to working on cars.
The coilovers were driven on and inspected by a GM certified mechanic who I can get you in contact with if you want.
My friend who helped me remove them is a former bmw engineer and close friend.
Vodalus drove and rode on them while on my car.
I drove the car to and from work without problems.
My point is that the coilovers should have had zero problems when they arrived.
I've replied to every pm and email you have sent.
I was more than willing to help you out before I read through this thread and after you filed with paypal.
You installed the coilovers improperly,
knew there was a problem and continued to drive on them,
noticed one might be damaged and still drove on them,
and now you want me to pay you back?
I will continue our discussion through email from now on

please go read the post. I already stated before I was wrong...and someone else commented (I wont use names because you dont know them) that it was NOT hitting the bump stops and the noises were something else. I was not familiar with this setup which was also mentioned quite a few times and got some terms wrong.
Why would I imply anything about his car? I dont care how they worked on his car. I think you are missing the point....they do not work on my car. If they work so well for him ...he can have them back...I'll take my money back and he can resell easily if they work.
Yes I did have to drive the car I only have one....but the noises were from the beginning...not something that happened over time.....which would clearly show that the were faulty from the beginning. THEY WERE NEVER riding on the bump stops.
THIS IS NOT A THREAD FOR ARGUING. If you want to speak for him then thats fine...just let me know if im getting my money back or not. Please only offer helpful ideas to get them to work or to get my money back. Thanks.

The points I'm trying to make clear are:
- If they worked perfectly on his car, they should work perfectly on ANY S2000.
- The fact that they're having problems on your car is likely due to the initial improper installation.
- It's unlikely that someone will take an item back from you and refund your money if it is believed that you damaged the item in some way.
My helpful idea to you, as stated in my initial post, is to 'accept your mistake an move on'. By moving on, I mean having the install evaluated by a real mechanic to see if the noise is coming from somewhere else and having them repaired by Buddy Club if necessary.

Your first point is great. You are right. They should work.
They were installed properly from the beginning just at a lower height. If you call buddyclub us (as I did twice) you will find they are designed to handle a very wide range of heights.
I understand that you feel I damaged them. However....we obviously have different point of views.
Your "helpful" idea is semi helpful. I will be moving on because I refuse to waste any more energy/time/money on this. All I keep asking is if I will be getting money back for receiving faulty equipment. I'm not sure if you are his representative or not but as stated in the thread...I will be discussing this with him directly.
Thank you again.
The vehicle, when the coilovers were installed the first time, did not ride on the bump stops at all. We then brought the car back in to see if anything else needs to be adjusted. We raised the car up and the noise is still there. That's the bottom line. It's coming from the left rear and that's the only area it's coming from .
Based on the design of this shock and the spring tension, I don't see how the car ever rode on the bump rubbers, I brought this up as a possible solution because of a problem I had with JIC shocks.
The proper way to set this shock is to give it very little preload, at that setting there was no way the bump rubbers were even close at static ride height. Only the mother of all bumps would make it hit.
From what I can tell the original installers just cranked up the preload to raise the car and did not adjust the shock body at all. This made for a extremely stiff ride and massively reduced the suspension travel
After reading about the multitude of problems with Buddy Club dampers, I don't see that the installation was done improperly to cause shock damage.
Now maybe the shock was ready to go and just driving on it helped it along?
Here's what I suggest, work out a agreement to have the shocks tested at Buddy Club, the original owner should be able to convince BC to fix them under warranty of they are blown or need work.
