George....great find...not sure why I didn't bother looking it up. So maybe the shock is blown and sending vibrations through the nearest parts and echoing the sound under the car or something....I dunno. I do know for it fact it didn't make these sounds stock. I really DO NOT want to ship these out to buddyclub just to have them tell me they are blown. Rip them back off the car and try to get money back? The ride is so much better that I'm not in as much of a hurry now.

By the way George...you car looks sweet!

even if they are blown, buddy club should be able to fix them for you...

Agreed....but add the cost of the suspension I've bought ($700)....to shipping ($40-60)...to price to fix($$$?)....and I could have myself a set of new ones I'm assuming. A new set goes for 1100-1200.

Any chance they are under warranty? If so, you may be able to get them fixed for free?

I'm trying to find out if the original owner had a receipt. I was told buddyclub will only warranty with original receipt.

I called buddy club and he said the most common reasons they had was the perch under the spring hitting the a arm or sway bar. He said raise the car back up with the tire on it and put the jack under to push the a arm up. that way we can see whats rubbing. I informed him over and over again that we tried it and it really doesnt appear to be rubbing. He then asked me to raise the spring perch higher. I mentioned we have had it at a lot of heights and they all have made this noise or similar. He said it really doesnt sound like a blown shock, but then gave me the phone number to call team spugen and ask them.

Hmmm, I know you guys have checked, double checked, and checked again, but make sure the suspension if fully torqued to the body (shock tower of the car) If there's any play, that could cause your clunk noise. Also inspect all the suspension components, if something is hitting or rubbing, you'll see a mark on it.

One last thing, I know you don't want to hear this now, but I've found suspensions for our car's is one thing you've got to heavily research, like G Factor has found, there were already threads talking about such issues with the Buddy Clubs that you could have been made aware of before you bought them unknowingly. Again, I'm not trying to bust your chops, just emphasizing the need to research such things you do to your car.

OT, G factor, didn't you have a little problem with one of your KW V.3's. I plan to buy a set soon, and remember you having an issue? Or am I mistaking you with someone else. Either way, how do you like your KW's. Any regrets.

highrpm...I completely understand what you're saying and its ok to give me a tough time...I should have done more research...and I should NEVER have tried buying them used. I did get another message from the previous owner and I sent him a link to this thread where he can see its getting rediculous. Everything is tight. At this point I'd willing to learn my lesson.....get the money back....and pretend it never happened.

In all honesty though....I think I wouldve liked them just fine if there was no issues. I even wouldnt mind buying a set of new ones. There are two different versions of this setup. US and JDM. JDM seems to be perfect and US seems to suck. I think I know which one this was

Keep the comments (good or bad) and questions coming.

you could also just buy the new dampening system from buddy club the N+ cuase it's more street oriented.... don't know if you ever wanted to track your car or not.. but the N+ will work for minor tracking also...

My KW's have been flawless, I had one of the first sets in the US. They are really well damped and make the car very stable.
