Default Rear Speaker Install

Im sure the majority of you have done it... Ive read the threads on it and am just curious if it is worth the extra money to buy the kits from Lucid? Or is it fairly simple to install the rear, and door speakers myself? Also is there a FAQ somewhere I dont know about describing how to wire in the rear speakers? Be nice im new to this car!

You should also check into the s-pods.

you can do a searchand you'll find alot of owners have them.

For door speakers, you will most likely need to buy or make a spacer to allow for the added depth of an aftermarket speaker. Wiring is not hard other than fishing heavier gauge wire through the door grommets. I did not add rear speakers. I know folks that have them swear by the "fill" they receive from them, however, I can't justify putting speakers behind the seats unless it's for mid-bass or lower frequencies.

That's just my opinion... not necessarily right or wrong. Good luck and welcome to the club.

If you want to do rear speakers, you might consider doing the tweeters like I did them, which gives you nearly the performance of S-Pods or the factory tweeter units for a fraction of the cost. I started with a Kenwood Excelon 5.25 midrange and tweeter component set. The midrange went into the standard Lucid

I used the harness from Lucid and cut my own panels, I bought some 5 1/4 inch Polks for about $ 75.00. The instal was simple even with cutting the panels

The Sound fill is much better, its not a Audiophile setup by any means, but gets the job done for me.

If you can handle a jigsaw you can cut out the rear panel holes yourself. Just mark the holes carefully so the speaker magnets won't hit the frame members back there. I do recommend Lucid's wiring harness for connection to the headunit -- plug and play simplicity.
