Roll bar with no diagonal
Hey guys, a quick question: I'm looking to do occasional track days at VIR/Summit/NJMP, and was wondering: will a Hard Dog roll bar without a diagonal bar pass tech? I am trying to retain as much interior as possible. Thanks.
I'm not sure on the tech question, but I have a single diagonal hard dog bar, and I don't think the diagonal affected the amount of interior bits I had to remove. I think the only change with the diagonal is that the passenger seat doesn't slide quite as far back as it used to.
I might be wrong though. I never made much of an effort to get all of my interior back in.

Does it have rear supports? If so, you are probably fine. Technically, it should have a diagonal support but if it is a real hoop with rear supports, I would hop in the car without much hesitation. You could get one welded in for probably about $50.

if you are purchasing a new hard dog bar get a removable diagonal. this way you can take it out when not at the track.
regardless the diagonal is the least of your worries about the interior. the main hoop and rear supports are what take up most of the interior. if you have courage you can trim the interior around and make it look factory-ish. if you happen to be at summit point hyperfest weekend, hit me up and you can see how i reinstalled my interior.
