Default She's BACK!

After 5 weeks and one day, I am driving my beautiful Spa again. I picked her up from Rockville Auto Body yesterday. She looks like new. I paid my $100 and GEICO paid out much much more. The final bill hasn't been calculated yet, but it'll be between $8,000-$9,000. I got new bumpers in the front and back, and a whole new right side, except for the door, and new lights front and back on the right side. I also got a new right upper control arm and new bearings. Apparently I screwed up the suspension. The match is excellent, with only the very slightest variation. All the seams look great. They have to touch up one little area in front of the right side turn indicator that somehow got missed and they're still awaiting a couple of minor tail light parts from Honda. Until I get 'em, we're using parts from the old light. They did a damn good job. It took longer than expected, but they had to pretty much remove the convertible top to get to some weld points. Actually they sent the car out to a "Honda specialist" to do that work. And, they sent it out to an alighnment/suspension specialist shop to do that work. The suspension feels right, as does the steering. The only gripe I have is that the convertible top, just above the top right of the rear window, is flapping, even at regular speeds. I had to stuff a small, folded up towel back there to stop the flapping. I'll get it fixed later when the car gets it's first servicing. Anyway, I'm a HAPPY MAN AGAIN! Now, all I have to do is get my confidence back when driving in the rain on those damn SO2's.

Back in the saddle again!!

Marc

Glad you got your baby back. What exactly happened? Can you point me to any current threads explaining? I feel lost!

Congratulations, Marc...enjoy and be careful! My S-02s have 6500 miles on them and I'm already starting to save up for a new pair of rears. Great tires, but I guess if you want to play, you gotta pay...see you on the road!

I'm glad she's back and you are happy with the work. I think we really need to change the maint required light to a tires required light.

I agree. Maybe someone will come up with that and organize a group buy
