Default out of curiosity...

I recently had a hit and run when I left my car parked in the city, and my tail light was smashed out. I ordered one from a reputable Honda parts dealer who listed it on ebay for around $200. While I know I could have probably waited and chanced a better deal on the For Sale forums, I needed to replace it ASAP due to water getting into the light. I just replaced it today, and everything is good as new.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost at the local stealership to have a tail light replaced with parts and labor. Something tells me it's quite a bit more than $200, despite the fact that all you have to do is undo three harnesses, four bolts, and bolt and harness the new light in.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you call the local dealership and ask them?

Uhm that seems weird 1 grand? You're crazy.

Majestic Honda 202.26 per side - install time less then an hour for both..

I recently looked around and had a hard time finding an AP2 tail light for less than $300 used. Had some moisture getting inside the tail light. Ended up buying a $5 tube of silicone and fixing the leak instead. $50 would have been doable, but even $200 is completely rediculous for a tail light, even with LEDs.

Edit: FYI looked up the price on majestic honda, $202 for the tail light assembly for an AP2.

so basically I just saved money on the install, which is fine with me. Install/labor is probably wa too expensive to bother when it's a foolproof 10 minute install with a socket wrench. I apologize for any typos, phones are not easy to tpe on. But yeah I found a single passenger side ap2 tail assembly without bulbs for around 200.
