For DC, check out the MARC train. It's like $7 each way (to/from Baltimore) and brings you to Union Station in DC where you can then walk around or use their Metro to get to all the sites. Baltimore's Penn Station is maybe a $3 cab ride from your hotel.

I'll be using the MARC train to get from Balitmore to Washington. Now I need to find a way to get to NYC. I found Amtrak but its $103. Trying to find something cheaper.
