The US is massively in debt. There is nothing safe in the market, billions and billions of debt floating around. I'm not going to invest in anything US until 2010 at the earliest. (by then we will know if the recession has hit depression levels).
The government and the analysts will be talking the market up non-stop, because if it continues to plummet NO ONE wins.
