You should really buy quality rather than try to trade the stocks and options.

If you want to be more conservative on stocks try preferred, e.g., XL-B. Paying 7.625% and trading over my purchase price of $25. Has a 5 year life and guarantee of initial purchase price of $25 at maturity. There are lots of these that have AAA/AA ratings.
