I did. The OEM element is $25. A K&N is about $50. The cleaning kit is about $15. I can go three years (assuming an annual change which is probably not even close to being needed for most of the garage queens), before I saved any money. Then you still have the mess to clean/dry/oil it. All that to start saving $25 a year after three years at the least isn't much motivation to me. Most folks probably change bi-annually or longer at which point the deal is even less enticing.

When i need to clean my filter I put it on my bathtub spout and turn the water all the way to hot and you wouldn't believe how much carbon comes off of it.

 

theres a display at pepboys in warwick RI, you put an OEM air filter in the box, and a fan blows through it, and you can feel how much air goes through it, then you put the K&N air filter in, and you can tell theres a huge difference in the amount of airflow through the filter.

 

Who sponsors the test display? K&N?

 

Is it any good? I'll give you $20 for it if it is good.
