Default Another interview today....

Ended up going to another job interview today. This time with HMA Direct www.hmadirect.com and was expecting another shady place with no base, just straight commission. Well I pull in to the facility in Newton Center "NICE!" and interview with their recruiter who is simply amazed by my Comm skills, full suit, previous experience. Forces me to interview with some VP or some and schedules another interview for Friday morning. (The more the better, more practice for me.)

Long story short, Account Executive position for Benefits Consulting Group, selling Health Insurance to businesses around MA.
No base or Draw again! Possible income of 7k a month with 1 deal closed a month. So I asked...

How many people hired with in past 6 months? What is an avg sucsess rate? How realistic is one deal a month? How economy proof this industry? Bla bla...

I am not happy with this etha, I feel as if these 100% commission gig's are buncha a bull crap.

Any one willing to pitch in with experience?

I would RUN from any job that is 100% commission, but I just feel the need for steady income and benefits.

I hate to tell you, but when I get those calls at the office from people trying to sell us health insurance, I politely say, thanks, but no thanks, not interested.

Not really..... I could tell she wanted me to come in for the second interview so she wouldn't have to answer those questions. So she kinda answered them by throwing in names of people who are doing well... .... so kinda beating around the bush for the rest of them. So the answer is NO. lol

This interview by far was way more professional then any of those Crap shows ive been to before. But still raises questions. In my situation I NEED stable income. Even if it's not super high.

But because i've been having a hard time finding a job I thought id ask for advice on 100% commission gigs.

Business is BAD in this area. Many businesses have gone under. How many businesses would even be willing to hear your sales pitch? In 22 years at my place we have never bought health insurance from a cold sales call. We either deal directly with the company, our insurance agent or a known broker.

Are there any benefits at this job?

I call on the whole deal then. But I'm not exactly what one would call a risk taker.

Are you interested in a career in the restaurant industry? Stable pay with a company that's been around for 40 years and we do offer benefits along with bonus potential. Also did I mention quality of life that most restaurant companies don't have.
