How does that Comptech CAI fit under your hood. I know it's the new style, so I wanted to make sure it's all good. I just got an Email from Comptech stating my new box and lid are on the way. Thanks

The Comptech CAI fits fine. Only a button on the under-side of the hood makes contact w/ the CAI box cover. I taped a small piece of insulation on that button and... no more scratches. Actually, the prop rod does make contact and causes a small scratch on the edge of the box, but that's it. No noise either.

Very happy with it so far...

were they for free?

 

If you purchased your Comptech intake directly from Comptech, they will send you a new one for free. Just call and ask for Joe. He will ship it out to you and charge a $100 core but will refund it as soon as he gets the defective box/lid. All you have to pay is the shipping to return the bad box.
