. I solved this by removing all the plastics from my CD burner and the floppy drive and spray painting them silver... this worked pretty well.
I build my boxes with components.....I think it is cheaper. In a few years I'll recycle the Power Supply, drives, case etc. Most technology is backward compatible....so even HD drives can be pressed into redundant back up.
When I need to upgrade, it is usually MOBO/Memory/Processor....

Weren't you the guy looking for the matching washer and dryer?
Do they work better if they are the same color?

Another vote in for match. In fact, can I take this further and say, "most" things in life, with few exceptions should match.

Guess my OCD is not as bad as I thought, as I've yet to order the adapter that will restore my computer to the "everything matches" mode. Who said I needed meds?

This poll needs a new option: Sell everything and buy a Mac
My Mac PowerBook laptop rocks
And it's a lovely Silverstone color too
AHA!! So you are the one!!! I was wondering who that one vote was.
I grew up using Macs. I was actually at the time looking for a IBM PS/2 or Apple IIgs, but happened to see the Mac Plus with Dark Castle on at the Computer Town in NH and was sold. After the Plus, I owned a IIsi, then a SE and then from there, I jumped over to the PC world, because Windows 98 really made Mac OS 9 look bad. Well, Apple has come a long way since then, but all the little idiosyncracies prevent me from going back to Apple, like one button mice, lack of a scroll wheel, format incompatibilities etc. I admit, the overall design is superior. Hence, I skinned my XP to look and function like the Mac, but still have all the PC functionality, the best of both worlds!!!

There is peace in the land and I will sleep tonight. My computer components match again..
well except for the tower and you can't see that.
I bought the little $4.99 adapter Erick recommended for my keyboard and it works just fine.
I did like the "feel" of the keys on the new Dell keyboard, but it didn't have much of an "edge" to it or something, as I was constantly hitting the "windows start" key or keys I didn't want to hit.
Thanks again, Erick.
