We're still alive

We were without power for about 20 hours, but we were seemingly the lucky ones. something like 1.8 million were/are without power. For whatever reason (luck), Coral Springs was continually between the rain bands, so our rain was mostly light with some good wind gusts.

Then the eye made landfall, shortly after midnight I was NOT a happy camper taking the dog out to take a dump in that mess. Imagine some moron crouching against the ground to prevent himself from getting swept away by the wind, clinging to a leash with a 10 pound dog at the other end copping a squat... well, that moron was me.

And it's only nearing the middle of hurricane season... <sigh>
