I'm running a Passport 8500 (pre-X50 model). It was a K or Ka radar, they wrote "Genesis" on the ticket, which appears to be the brand name of the unit. Because he was facing perpendicular to the road and fairly close the beam just wasn't coming at me until I was really close. I don't know that other units can provide much more warning in this type of condition.

Just mailed out my "Not guilty" response today.
