jack stand placement

Default jack stand placement

Hi all,
im getting ready to put the S to bed for the winter. Should I put the jackstands where you would normally jack the car from,, Ie behind the front tire ?, if so where should i place my floor jack to do this?,,

it helpes to drive your car up on a couple of 2X6's or bigger so you can get the jack under better.

In the back you might want to put the stands on the tube section of the rear crossmember near the wheels.

In the front on the cradal right near the wheels also.

That could be an option or you can just leave it on the tires like i do and put a cover over it, cause i'm to lazzy to put it on stands

lol,, im kinda lazzy myself this time of year,,,, lol the 2x6 is a great idea thanks,,,,, im almost thinking of going for a ride this mornin,, but its pretty cold out there,, thanks for the input..

Some say (and I'm one of them) that it's not really necessary to put a stored car up on jack stands. This is an "unnatural" way for the suspension to be (unloaded). You might want to just consider rolling each tire onto a thick piece of carpet and pumping the pressures in them up to 45 psi or so.

My two cents, after a lifetime of storing sports cars, I reduce the tire pressure and roll the car forward or backwards a foot or so every week. A winter start and drive during dry weather is a really good idea too.

i was going to take the insurace off of it for the winter,,, maybe i wont,, thanks for the tips though
