Lower your Insurance

Lower your Insurance
Everyone,
Last year my 2002 S was insured for 1274 Dollars. I tried to shop around and also had my agent requote.
Guess what my insurance went down from my own agent. 2005 premium is 1218 Dollars
I explained that the the car is worth less for collision coverage and I have one more clean year.
Give it a try and see what happens.
It is a myth that all carriers will charge the same.
MR J
PS I have high limits (500,000) and high deductables (1000)

I was going to post something like this soon...
Insurance for my 02 with over 40K miles was over 30% of what I'm paying now for my 03 with 8K miles on it.
Maybe we should call the insurance agent every year and get another quote?
In MA all insurance companies will charge approximately (some give discount for AAA, etc) the same. The issue, I believe, is that you get into a contract at the time you get the car and get a quote that's based on the condition of the car and your driving record and place of residence, etc. at THAT TIME.
As your car gets older and loses is value the insurance co won't automatically lower your premium.
Let's see if anyone else here can save some $$$
Anyone here works for an insurance co that can shed some light on this? Am I missing something here?

With Met Life Prop/Cas my premium is only $800 for my 2002 S2000, which is by far my most expensive car to insure based on its very high risk factor. My Ferrari is worth a lot more, but is cheaper to insure due to its lower risk factor...

Car insurance is a lose/lose situation in MA.
So far Rick and I are still at step 9. We are mature adults Vintage age and all, but that doesn't matter.
We pay over $1500.00 to insure the "S" and just over $1,000.00 for my 2002 Jeep Liberty.
We have the usual coverage 100/300, etc. a $500.00 deductible on collision and $300.00 on fire and theft. We could save a few dollars by raising deductibles, but don't want to do that just yet.
You would expect the rates to go down as the cars get older, (if you don't have violations) but it never seems to happen. When the insurance company enters a VIN on an "S" a certain rating number comes up. The "S" has one of the highest numbers in that area resulting in it being a very expensive car to insure.
Wonder how a used Porsche rates with insurance companies. Maybe we should trade in the "S" for a Porsche? Nah...........NESKO people have to be lots more fun than Porsche people

Ok just called for ReQuote. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Boston, Massachusetts. 1-800-225-8285.
If I go to $1000 deductibles on my Accord and S2000 then my rate goes from $1676 to $1497 for my 3 vehicles for a savings of $179.
