Even though people call the Macs expensive, when you think about it, they cost less than the PC notebooks of a few years ago. I remember notebooks costing $2K plus not so long ago.

If you compare a PC laptop to a Mac laptop with similar specs, the PC is cheaper. This has always been the case. You can argue that the Mac has better design, intuitiveness, etc... but not that they're cheaper.

I took typing. They played some stupid music while you typed to try and get you into a rhythm. I never got good at it then, But I'm pretty fast now.
When? Did you learn on a manual or electric? I remember POUNDING on those manual typewriters.....

But you have to also look at the software that the MAC throws in depending on model .

It all evens out in the end .

I am looking forward to playing with Windows 7 on my other notebook soon .
They don't throw in anything you can't get free windows software to do as well. You might like the fact that Apple doesn't make you go looking for it, but they aren't really saving any money for the people who don't mind doing the extra legwork. Besides... since when has software cost money?
