And I'm getting yet another oil change. I've driven quite a bit since mid April: big trip to the Glen, big trip to PA, trip to brake meet...

I'd still want it in for a filter change every few K though.
Looks like that model will be perfect for what you need then Doug.
It will be a shame if they don't at least offer a performance model for those who want something that hearkens to the CRX like myself. If I want an econobox, I would buy something else. To me, taking a car that is designed and named to be so similar to a great car like the CRX and making it a hybrid grocery getter is like taking a car that looks like the S and putting a hybrid motor in it.

YOU ARE NOT GETTING IT!!!
Expand your limitations! Just because it does not have a 2.0 4-cyl performance gas engine does not mean it can't be one hell of a sporty car. The CRX was a sporty car, it was not a super fast car, it was a great handling quick car. The whole CR-Z concept is on the mark for good cornering and peppy performance. Do not look down upon it just because it challenges you to think of hybrid in a new light. Forget the f'ing Prius, that is the proverbial hybrid grocery getter, but just because something has hybrid technology does not religate it to rocery getting.
CR-Z converts to
4,080 millimeter = 160.6" Length
1,780 millimeter = 70.1" Width
1,280 millimeter = 50.4" Height
2,500 millimeter = 98.4" Wheelbase
CRX Gen 2 specs
Doug, not everyone wants the same things in life as you. I want a CRX type of car with a strong gas motor. I have no interest whatsoever in hybrid technology or saving the planet. I can't be bothered.
IMO, Honda will offer a decent gas powerplant in the CRZ in a year or two because not enough people who are interested in a sports car give a crap about green stuff.
Hybrids appeal more to the person who needs a sedan or something they can do more stuff with. Do you think hippies really care if the car can rip up the twisties?
