Hello S2k owners

I'm currently seeking a new car. I want a car that says a statement, a car that will turn heads, a flashy car. the S2K obviously made my list. I am just out of college and a new car will be my first major purchase. I m single with no kids, and i know now is the perfect time for a 2 seater showy car. my new car will be driven daily. the new car will be garaged at nite but not at work.
I like the S2k a lot, but i m worry about the practicality of the car. I worry that it is not for everyday driving. and I've read reviews on edmunds.com and epionion.com and i've got the impression that the S2k is strictly a toy.
i've read that the wind and engine noise is annoying for daily driving. Do any of you find this to be true? i am also concern with the weather in the north east (thats why i post this message for you guys not the general board) If i do get a S2k, and drive it daily, do you think the north east weather will beat it up quickly. Please help me out with your comments.

Other cars in consideration, bimmer 325ci, lexus IS300 <--waiting for the maunal trans for a test drive, audi 1.8TT, audi A4, 2000 S4.

The weather could get pretty nasty in New England. Tough to drive in the winter...usually people who buy this car, have a winter car as well. I love this car...no regrets. If it wind noise you are worried about, pull over 10 second..later you power will be on. I take the top off and on..alot during highway traffic..if it gets to hot. You should think about winter driving in NE. That's my 2 cents.

Been there done that for 2 winters and almost 2 years now. I drive this car daily. It attracts attention and sometimes the wrong attention. This winter I will be contemplating storing my car and driving a winter car.(if I can afford it) Other wise put on snow tires and 150 lb in the trunk! Never get into cold weather or ice/snow with the stock tires. Repeat NEVER you won't like the resulting accident(s).

You could probably do what I plan on doing. Drive the car all the time for 2-3 years then turn it into a summer only car then to a weekend/weekday nice day toy and have a separate car for the rest of the time. Then if you still have it and love it. Detail the living hell out of it. Make it show room looking new stick it on jack stands clean every nook and cranny possible and keep it covered for nice weekends......which will probably require a separate garage off sight so not to piss off the wife. I plan on getting married sometime......though for now its to much fun being single and driving a S2000!
