George, I hope to God that you never find yourself down on your luck and have everyone else turn their backs on you.

I think what George is saying is that he already contributed. I agree with that assesment, however if I have some spare change in my pocket, I always toss it in the pan of a REPUTABLE charity. I wouldn't give a penny from under my seat to those ass hats who hold signs near the highway.

Don't see why you'd be too "riled up" to think for a minute about a donation.....

BTW the Salvation Army bell ringers are out at the grocery store. I put a couple bucks in their kettle today, and I generally do that whenever I see these people. Try it next time. It hardly hurts at all.

I had an aunt down on her luck, I was just a kid, but heard the stories later on.

My uncle was laid off, she wasn't working and had small kids at home. Salvation Army made Christmas possible for them...........Average Joes.....just your Average Joes needing help.
My aunt never ever walked by a Salvation Army kettle after that without throwing something in, even though she could hardly afford it. She never forgot someone helped her when she was down on her luck. I truly hope none of you here ever feels the pain she must have felt that Christmas, when she asked for help.
Well said, Lainey.

We'll I guess we should let George speak for himself, but if "he already gave by the taxes he paid" it's not quite the same as taking a few bucks out of your pocket for another cause.

But I DO AGREE, that I only donate to reputable charities. Too many scams out there.

That reminds me, with all this talk, it's time to write a small check to the Market Ministery , it's getting cold out and they feed and shelter the homeless. They get large crowds in the winter.

Anyone here want their address?

Yeah, if you want their address, PM me since they have moved to a new location in Westport.

They have based their operations out of my living room this season so just make the checks out to me. I will make sure the money goes where it should, honest!

Hey me if I was unemployable for some reason or another I can always fall back on swinging that hammer in construction or detailing cars or whatever. I do know what it was like not having $$$ although not that I needed it because I had a roof that my parents provided but none the less I would do any hustle to make $$$. Legally that is

I'd also like to point out that I am not some cold hearted bitch. I mean if someone is genuinely out there trying to make it I will help anyway I can. But if I see a no good bum out there lazing through life. Well lets say I wouldn't even slow down
