I dont think there is a non-jailbroken tethering app because I hear ATT has plans to allow PAM (phone as modem) functionality in the future. You know they plan to charge for this though

I wonder what the threshold of data is before the flag goes up.

interesting but not worth it for what I need. I have Nav in my car so I just want the touch to have GPS so I can utilize location services for searches and cool things like the "where did I park" apps.

it is the pit of the itouch for some. But hey its still an awesome product in every other regard

yeah, it is. Maybe I could get a iPhone and just use it as an iPod without having the phone/data service turned on. Then I would have the GPS reciever and microphone. I dont know if the thing will even work without service though

Then, maybe I will jut have to break down and get an iphone and pay the damned monthly fee. I hate to be paying two damned phone bills though
